Genevra Harker-Klimeš

Dr Genevra Harker-Klimeš is a Senior Advisor to the US Department of Energy (DOE) Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO). She has worked as part of the DOE network of national laboratories since 2015, when she joined the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to lead the Triton Initiative - a capability to support the development of environmental technologies for monitoring around marine renewable energy devices. She became Director of the Coastal Sciences Division in early 2019, and then switched to her advisor role at the start of 2022. Before moving to the United States, she led her own energy and environmental consultancy in Europe for 13 years. Prior to that, she worked for an oceanographic survey company taking offshore measurements for numerous projects around the world (usually in high seas!). She has a Doctorate in physical oceanography from Bangor University, Wales, and a Master of Laws in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, Scotland.
